Goals
Goals are normally but not always, set on a top-down basis, starting with company goals, then team/manager goals and finally, employee goals. This allows for the goals of an employee to be linked to the goals of their team/manager, who could have their goals linked to the company goals.
This is known as the S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Achievable/Attainable, Results oriented/Realistic/Relevant, Time bound) framework for setting goals, which is a widely adopted standard.
Goals are added for employees by either an Administrator or a Manager, these goals are included in the performance review process, Goals can be labelled, weighted and categorised and once created are valid for any review where "goals" are included.
Next Goals
Additionally, as part of the review process Next Goals can be defined by the Manager, this means that any review set to completed by an employee and the Manager (where "Next Goals" is included in the review) will initiate a setting up of a Next Goals process for the manager once the employee has completed their side of the review.
Create Goals
Click on People from the Menu then click on any Individual you wish to populate goals for.
Note: Currently Goals are assigned on an individual basis by the Administrator or Manager
Click on Add to Add a Goal, Name it, categorize it (these should be pre-defined by your organisation/Administrator) and provide a description for it.
Once Added you can view goals in that employees profile and add more goals, edit weightings of the goals and view the goal description. As you build goals - the total weighting must equal 100%, this can include custom sections.
Once you have added all of the goals for this employee and set the weighting as you see fit these will be the goals and weightings reported on when any review is sent including Goals. In this process you will be able to edit, delete, add goals until any Review is live with them, when that happens the goals are locked.
Employee View
The employee will be able to view these goals under their login in their profile section under Goals
Note: Employees cannot edit or add goals at any stage of the process or via any functionality or menu item. They can however see these goals and their weightings, they can also see historical goals.
